Effect of NaOH Dosage on the Leaching Rate of Tungsten Concentrate

Abstract
Investigating the effect of NaOH dosage on the leaching rates of wolframite, scheelite, and mixed tungsten concentrates to determine the optimal alkali dosage for efficient leaching of different tungsten concentrate types, a controlled variable approach was adopted where parameters such as ore sample mass, solid−liquid ratio, reaction temperature, and reaction time were kept constant while systematically varying only the NaOH dosage to conduct leaching experiments on the three types of concentrates and compare the differences in leaching efficiency under different alkali dosage. The results showed that for wolframite, the highest tungsten leaching rate of 97.87% was achieved at an alkali dosage of 4; for scheelite, the highest leaching rate of 94.52% was obtained at an alkali dosage of 6; and for the mixed concentrate, the highest leaching rate of 97.07% was reached at an alkali dosage of 4. The leaching of different types of tungsten concentrates requires significantly different alkali dosage, with scheelite needing a higher alkali dosage for efficient leaching, while wolframite and mixed concentrates can achieve ideal leaching results at lower alkali dosage.
