Abstract
The TFe grade and SiO2 content of iron concentrate in Gushan hematite concentrator maintain at 57% and 12%, respectively, where "stage grinding-unitary high gradient high intensity magnetic separation (HGHIMS)" process is used. Grinding-HGHIMS-anionic reverse flotation test was conducted for product quality improvement of Gushan hematite concentrate. The test results showed that the grade of iron concentrate could be up to 63.25% with a recovery of 70.15%, when the grinding fineness (calculated as -30 μm content) was 93%, magnetic field intensities were 0.8 T and 0.95 T for roughing and scavenging in HGHIMS, and reagent dosages were 1 000 g/t NaOH, 1000 g/t starch, 600 g/t lime, and 750+250 g/t collector in anionic reverse flotation consisting one roughing, one concentrating and three stages of scavenging. The results indicated that this process is technically feasible for the iron improvement and silicon reduction of Gushan hematite concentrate. The test results could also provide references for process optimization on site.
