Abstract: As an important strategic mineral resource in China, fluorite has obvious resource advantages. China's fluorite reserves have ranked second in the world for many years, while its output and consumption rank first. In 2018, China's fluorite imports exceeded exports for the first time. With the vigorous development of China's fluorine chemical industry, the gap of fluorite resources in China will increase continuously in the future. Based on the research on the status of fluorite in strategic emerging industries, the global supply and demand situation of fluorite, and the strategic value of fluorite, this article proposes six suggestions for the sustainable development of China's fluorite industry under global strategic thinking:ensuring the safe and stable development of the industry in connection with the demand evaluation for global industrial chain division of labor and supply chain management; rationally planning the fluorite industry and improving its international influence and competitiveness from the perspective of strategic resource management; strengthening geological surveys in key areas and reasonably introducing foreign survey companies to ensure resource sustainability; promoting technological innovation and technological progress in the fluorite and fluoride industry based on the domestic market; promoting market integration and rational distribution of industrial structure; jointly developing fluorite resources and markets with countries along the Belt and Road on the basis of mutual benefit.
