Fifty Years of Attapulgite in China: History and Prospects of Research on the Crystal Structure and Crystal Chemistry

  • 摘要: 在我国,针对坡缕石(凹凸棒石)的研究始于1976年在江苏六合小盘山的首次发现,至今也已达50年,有必要对坡缕石的矿物学研究进展进行一次回顾。以坡缕石矿物种的确定、坡缕石的矿物晶体化学、坡缕石的晶体结构、坡缕石的形貌为重点,回顾坡缕石的理论研究进展,并针对其物理性质进行相关应用研究回顾与展望。在我国,以坡缕石为主要矿物组分的黏土矿也被称为凹凸棒石,是非常重要的非金属材料,因其应用之广而被称为“万土之王”,得到各行各业的重视。全面了解坡缕石的矿物学研究现状,是其应用研究的基础。本文可为坡缕石的应用研究提供理论支撑,具有一定的经济意义。

     

    Abstract: In China, palygorskite research commenced with its initial discovery at Xiaopanshan, Luhe, Jiangsu Province in 1976. Over the past fifty years study, it is necessary to systematically review the advances in mineralogical research on palygorskite. In this paper, we are going to focus on review of the determine of mineral species, crystallochemistry, crystal structure, the morphological characters etc. as well as the utilization based on its physical properties. As the predominant mineral component in attapulgite clay deposits, palygorskite represents a premier non−metallic material—revered as the “King of Clays”—and commands significant cross−disciplinary interest globally. This review provides a comprehensive retrospective on the mineralogical milestones, crystallochemical insights, and structural advancements of palygorskite in China and abroad, it is vitally important to understand and use the attapulgite scientifically.
