Abstract:
Pyrite is widely associated with chalcopyrite, sphalerite, galena and other minerals. The pyrite is easily subjected to mix into other concentrate products, resulting in a decrease in concentrate quality. This is because the pyrite has good natural floatability, and it also can be activated by copper and lead ions. Therefore, it is necessary to use depressant to selectively inhibit pyrite during the flotation separation of polymetallic sulphide ore to complete the efficient utilization of resources. In this paper, the depressant progress of the pyrite flotation in recent years was reviewed. Considering the production cost and green environmental protection requirements, the use of the combined depressant is one of the important development trends in the pyrite flotation.
